Description of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 512GB Red

Every year, Samsung releases new devices in the Galaxy Z Flip series, a range of foldable phones. In 2025, that is this Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 512GB Red. It is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and it has been improved in several ways. For instance, you will enjoy a larger cover screen, the design has become considerably thinner and Samsung has improved the cameras.

Larger screens

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is a foldable, so you get two screens. One on the inside and one on the outside. Both screens feature AMOLED technology, which makes colours look very realistic. Also, the refresh rate on both screens is up to 120Hz, which ensures smooth animations. Maximum brightness is also fine. It is 2600 nits, more than enough to read your display effortlessly even in bright sunlight.

On the 4.1-inch outer screen, you can respond to your messages, open all kinds of apps and access AI in no time. The screen is a lot bigger than that of its predecessor, the Z Flip 6, making it much more practical!

Flip open the device and you get a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with improved aspect ratio. The refresh rate is adjustable between 1Hz and 120Hz. So your display is economical when it can be, for instance when you are reading an article. At the same time, games look stunning when you set the big screen to 120Hz! Out of the box, this Samsung Z Flip runs on Android 16.

Ultra-thin and robust design

Gone are the days when foldables were much thicker than regular smartphones. In fact, this Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 512GB Red is only 6.5mm thick when unfolded. That's a big improvement over the Flip 6. When folded, the device is 13.7mm thick. Still prefer an even thinner smartphone? Take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge!

At the same time, though, this Flip 7 is remarkably robust, thanks to its scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass screen and aluminium frame. Furthermore, Samsung offers a whopping seven Android OS updates and seven years of security updates. That means you'll be using your smartphone safely for years to come, and you'll always have the latest features too!

Stunning cameras

Samsung has revamped the cameras on this Galaxy Z Flip. It lets you take beautiful photos and videos. The main lens has a resolution of 50 megapixels. The second camera on the back is a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. This lets you take photos from a wide angle. Useful when you want to take photos of a large group of people, for example. The 10MP selfie camera also lets you take great photos. As this is a foldable device, you can also put it down and use the main camera on the back as a selfie camera!

Thanks to various AI features, you can make your photos and videos even more beautiful. AI Zoom lets you zoom in far without losing much quality. Nightography lets you capture everything even in low light. You can also move and delete objects in your content effortlessly.

Galaxy AI and Gemini Live

Samsung is betting heavily on AI. We have seen this before on devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. You can also access AI directly via the outside screen. This allows you to start a conversation directly with Gemini Live to ask all your questions.

With fluid interaction between apps, you perform multiple actions simultaneously via a single voice message. For instance, you can add an appointment in your calendar, set an alarm and open the location of your appointment in Google Maps all at once. You also always have a handy overview of your day via Now Brief. It also tells you, for instance, that a new episode of your favourite podcast is ready!
